OpenTable has unveiled its Top 50 Restaurants in Australia for 2025, celebrating the country’s most sought-after dining destinations based on verified diner reviews and comprehensive dining metrics.
The list, generated from more than 195,000 verified OpenTable diner reviews collected between September 2024 and August 2025, showcases restaurants across all states and territories, from neighbourhood favourites to nationally recognised venues.
“OpenTable’s list of the Top 50 Restaurants in Australia is a true celebration of the country’s vibrant dining scene,” said Drew Bowering, Senior Director of Restaurant Sales and Services ANZ at OpenTable. “From much-loved neighbourhood gems like Grazia Restaurant in Melbourne to some of Australia’s most popular venues like Pellegrino 2000 in Sydney, the list is a reflection of the passion and creativity that defines—and sets apart—Australia’s hospitality industry.”
The selection methodology evaluated restaurants based on multiple data points, including diner ratings, the percentage of five-star reviews, the number of alerts set for availability, advance booking patterns, capacity percentages and direct searches. Restaurants were required to meet a minimum threshold of reviews to be considered.
Victoria leads the states
Victoria leads the list with 20 restaurants, including acclaimed establishments such as Attica in Ripponlea, Vue de Monde in Melbourne, and Grazia Restaurant in Glen Iris. The state’s representation spans diverse cuisines from Italian trattorias to Korean BBQ.
New South Wales follows with 12 restaurants, featuring standouts such as Pellegrino 2000 in Surry Hills, Neptune’s Grotto in Sydney, and Fontana in Redfern.
Queensland claimed 14 spots, showcasing the state’s coastal dining strength with venues like Restaurant Labart in Burleigh Heads, Sails Noosa, and EDDY + WOLFF in Robina.
South Australia earned three positions with Asha in Goodwood, Fiore at Down The Rabbit Hole Wines in McLaren Vale, and Melt Hyde Park.
Western Australia secured one spot with Double Rainbow Bar & Eating House in Perth, while the ACT rounded out the list with REBEL REBEL in Canberra.

The recognition comes as Australia’s restaurant industry continues to thrive, with dining out increasingly viewed as an essential social activity and community gathering point for Australians nationwide.
