Uber Eats partners with OpenTable to launch reservations feature

Reservations on Uber Eats, now allows diners to book tables at hundreds of restaurants, powered by OpenTable’s real‑time availability.

Bondi Icebergs is now offering exclusive tables through Uber One.

Uber Eats is expanding beyond food delivery with the introduction of an integrated OpenTable reservation system in its app, marking the latest move in the company’s evolution into a comprehensive dining platform.

The new Reservations feature, now live across Australia, allows users to book tables at hundreds of participating restaurants directly through the Uber Eats app.

The rollout includes a premium tier called Uber One Exclusive Tables, which gives Uber One members access to reserved tables at hard-to-book restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne.

The exclusive access program features more than 35 restaurants, including Sydney’s Pellegrino 2000, Neptune’s Grotto, and Ester, as well as Melbourne venues like Lee Ho Fook, Daphne, and Carlton Wine Room. The selection ranges from fine-dining establishments to neighbourhood favourites.

“Since Sydney was selected as the global launch market for Dine Out with Uber Eats, we’ve seen incredibly positive sentiment from both diners and restaurants across the city,” said Ed Kitchen, managing director of Uber Eats Australia & New Zealand. “Through our partnership with OpenTable, and with the launch of Reservations and Uber One Exclusive Tables, we’re making it even easier for Australians to discover great restaurants and secure a table at some of the most in-demand venues. It’s about giving diners more choice and convenience, while helping restaurants connect with new and returning guests.”

Uber Eats evolves its dining offers

The move builds on Uber Eats’ existing Dine Out feature, which launched in Sydney and allows users to discover restaurants for in-person dining. The OpenTable integration adds real-time availability and booking confirmations to the platform.

For restaurants, the partnership offers a new channel to reach diners and fill seats. “Our mission is to serve restaurants, so we’re proud to launch the Uber One Exclusive Tables program in partnership with Uber,” said Drew Bowering, general manager of OpenTable Australia. “The partnership showcases some of Australia’s best restaurants to new diners, helping them fill seats.”

Restaurant operators are embracing the platform to expand their reach.

“Saint Peter is celebrating 10 years of wonderful hospitality and innovative cooking this year. Uber One Exclusive Tables offers a seamless way for us to bring our approach to even more diners, and we’re thrilled to be part of the program,” said Josh Niland, chef and owner of Saint Peter.

Victor Liong, chef-owner of Lee Ho Fook in Melbourne, added: “Lee Ho Fook is always looking for innovative ways to reach new diners and grow our community – Uber One Exclusive Tables provides us with the perfect opportunity to connect to more people.”

The reservation feature is available to all Uber Eats users in Australia, while the Exclusive Tables program is limited to Uber One members.

The integration represents Uber’s broader strategy to position its membership program as one of the market’s most comprehensive, extending benefits beyond delivery to in-venue dining experiences.

The partnership marks a significant expansion for both companies, with OpenTable gaining access to Uber Eats’ user base while Uber deepens its integration with Australia’s hospitality sector.
