Australia’s Grill’d is bringing its better-for-you burger concept to drive-thru customers in Western Australia for the first time, opening a new location in Wanneroo on 13 December.
The Melbourne-based chain, which has 176 venues nationally, including one in Bali, will unveil its 29th Western Australia location and fourth drive-thru nationally at 9 Herdsman Lane.
The opening marks another step toward the privately owned company’s aggressive growth target of 300 restaurants by 2029.
“We’re committed to giving Australians easier access to fresh, healthy burgers made with premium local ingredients, and now WA locals can enjoy that experience with the added convenience of a Drive Thru,” said Simon Crowe, founder and managing director at Grill’d.
To mark the occasion, Grill’d will offer free burgers to the first 754 customers—a reference to the address of its original Hawthorn, Melbourne, location, which opened in 2004. Members of the chain’s Relish loyalty program can access $10 burgers throughout the opening weekend.
Brand’s first WA drive-thru
Regional General Manager for Western Australia Aimee Edwards said the fast-growing Wanneroo community made it an ideal location for the brand’s first WA drive-thru.
“Along with giving locals convenient access to their favourite burgers, this new restaurant will also bring real benefits to the area by creating 50 local jobs,” she said. “Like every Grill’d restaurant, Wanneroo will have its own Local Matters program, supporting local sporting clubs, charities and community groups every month. We’re supporting Wanneroo Bush Fire Brigade and Twelve Tone Music Academy in the first month, to contribute to initiatives that make a meaningful impact on the community.”
The restaurant will offer Grill’d’s full menu of more than 40 items made to order with what the company describes as premium local ingredients. Grill’d has positioned itself in the quick-service segment, emphasising quality and freshness and working with local suppliers to source ingredients.
