The New South Wales (NSW) government has opened applications for the fourth round of its Uptown Grant Program, making $4 million available to hospitality operators and small businesses looking to energise their local precincts.
Businesses across Greater Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong are eligible to apply, with individual grants ranging from $100,000 to $120,000. Applications close March 31, 2026.
The program, part of the state’s 24-Hour Economy Strategy, is aimed at helping local business groups build vibrant, self-sustaining going-out districts that reflect the character of their neighbourhoods.
Past recipients include well-known Sydney destinations such as YCK Laneways, Enmore Road and the Inner West Ale Trail.
In the previous round, 37 precincts received funding — 16 returning recipients and 21 first-timers, including Port Kembla Precinct, Midtown Newcastle and Canley Heights Nights.
“At its heart, Uptown is about empowering local communities to activate their districts,” said 24-Hour Economy Commissioner Michael Rodrigues.
