Nando’s is capping off a year of aggressive growth with the opening of its 11th Australian restaurant for 2025, a new riverside location at Sunshine Plaza in Maroochydore that brings 18 jobs to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.
The flame-grilled chicken chain’s latest opening on 2 December underscores the brand’s continued expansion strategy in high-traffic retail precincts across the country.
“Sunshine Plaza is a natural next step for Nando’s in Queensland. It’s a high-energy precinct with a beautiful outlook and a community that already loves our flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken,” said Nathan Wyndham, Regional General Manager of Nando’s. “We’re thrilled to welcome 18 new team members and fire up another stunning restaurant for the Coast.”
The Sunshine Plaza restaurant represents Nando’s ongoing investment in Queensland’s growing dining market, positioning the brand in a major shopping destination that attracts both locals and tourists to the region.
The new location features Nando’s flagship dining experience, including bottomless beverages, premium drinks and frozen cocktails, and the brand’s signature self-serve PERi-PERi sauce station.
An outdoor waterfront dining area capitalises on the plaza’s riverside setting, while the interior reflects Nando’s Southern African heritage with original artwork, custom seating and authentic African tiles.
To drive opening day traffic, Nando’s will offer free quarter PERi-PERi chicken and chips to the first 100 customers.
The restaurant will operate from 10am to 10pm daily at Shop GD 272A & 272B, 154-164 Horton Parade, Maroochydore, adding to Nando’s expanding footprint in high-performing retail centres nationwide.
