DoorDash Australia is rolling out one of its largest promotional campaigns to date, offering customers free menu items from popular restaurant chains over four consecutive days starting Wednesday.
The delivery platform will give away 15,000 items daily from 4pm until supplies run out, with each day featuring a different category: burgers on 26 November; burritos on 27 November; pizzas on 28 November; and meal bundles on 29 November.
Promotion for new and existing customers
Participating restaurants include Guzman Y Gomez, Betty’s Burgers, and Grill’d, among other local and national chains available on the DoorDash app. The promotion is open to both new and existing customers, with one free item allowed per customer per day.
The timing of the giveaway appears strategic, positioned just before the December holiday rush when consumers are juggling end-of-year obligations and expenses.
DoorDash is positioning the promotion as a way to provide relief during one of the busiest times of the year.
“It’s DoorDash’s way of bringing extra joy to the silly season and delivering the dishes and go-to favourites that fuel everyone ahead of the busiest weeks of the year,” the company said in a statement.
While the menu items are free, customers will still need to pay delivery and service fees. Each item must be redeemed through the DoorDash app, and the offer is subject to availability at participating restaurants.
